Dragon’s Milk

This drink has all the bubbly thickness of a milkshake without the dairy! Dragon’s Milk is quick and easy to make using just a blender. Kids will love the name and they will benefit from the nutritional goodness! Loaded with antioxidants, Vitamin Bs, C, E, folic acid, omega 3 & 6 fatty acids (necessary for cellular wall integrity, and hormones), good source of calcium, iron, phosphorus, manganese, selenium and zinc. Dragon fruit can be found at local Asian grocers. Soaking the raw almonds overnight is essential for releasing an enzyme (lipase, for breaking down fats) rinse thoroughly to wash away impurities & tannins. Raw nuts that are soaked have improved bioavailability. For you information almonds are truly a seed (a drupe).

Dragon’s Milk

Attributes:  raw, vegan, dairy free, soothing
Equipment:  blender
Ingredients:

1 dragon fruit, peeled
2 Thai coconuts, water & meat
1/2 banana
1/2 C raw almonds (soaked overnight)
                                         

Directions:  Use a clever to open the top of coconuts and drain juice into blender. Scoop out coconut flesh, clean of brown fibers and husk before adding to blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve immediately. Satisfying.”
                                 

Optional:  Hemp seeds and black sesame seeds make a nice garnish, as does cardamom seeds from a freshly cracked cardamom pod”
